To preserve the grain crop was vital for these peoples of farmers: it was to assure the food of the year. Every exploitation or almost had so its hórreo. And one always builds it to keep the corn. The most recent that I was able to observe and which were dated went raised to the last decade of XX-th century. |

| The houses which are today near an existing hórreo do not let it degrade but on the contrary highlight it, painting it at the need of lively colours. | ||

They adopt so a mockup, hórreo of symbolic and ornamental garden for which it has to exist manufacturers (as for the cruceiros which one can see also on certain lawns) | ||
