Variety of Hórreos

When at random of a small road of Galicia's centre I arrived in front of this construction, as a big basket covered with a straw hat, I stopped net: never I had heard speaking about this model, otherwise an allusion to a round cabazo, about ancestor of the current hórreos, and who would have disappeared. Had I discovered the last one?
In fact there was one another near it, without straw and covered with plastic. And probably some the others in the hamlets of neighborhood. Since I was able to see 2 photos with always this same branch to the right, it is not so a wood accidentally put here but well an element of the granary which has a function which I ignore.

Anyway, it is about an archaic model in process of disappearance and it is surprising to meet in Europe today. They would be the typical feet of this Galicia's ground, one would imagine it rather belonging to a people of Africa, Oceania or some other far country.

Some types of hórreos or some motives for decoration are only in limited geographic zones: that above in roof in 4 hillsides in the Northeast, near Asturies, gets closer of "paneras", this other one below with small roof surmounting the door be only along the bank the North of Pontevedra's ría.

But often several models met in the same village.

It has there to have several dozens of thousands of hórreos in Galicia, small, big, near houses, in the centre of the old villages, in edge of rías or sea, isolated or sometimes grouped ...
