| Since about thirty years of new
not very fortunate populations choose Ariège as ground
of installation and subsistence, allured by its environmental
and human quality and the possibility of repurchasing at a reasonable
price building and small holdings forsaken by the strong rural
migration. The majority thus rehabilitated existing constructions or rebuilt on the ruins of those too degraded by time. Or even built new habitats when the buildings became rare or more expensive, or missed on the acquired grounds.
